Many people in Canon City want to know precisely how we get windows so clean to the point that they seem invisible, crystal clear. Well, we can tell you part of it but, like many family recipes out there, some things cannot be completely revealed.
The first aspect of a clean window starts with removing the screens carefully and sweeping the entire window frame and eaves above the window. Next, it is crucial that the window channel, jamb and sills are either vacuumed or swept out.
The screen MUST be cleaned. This not an option...kind of like taking a shower and then putting on dirty clothes. And the screen is not to be swept and called "clean". It must be cleaned with a soapy mop and rinsed off then dried. Our quoted price includes screen cleanings always.
Next up is the window itself. For the sake of redundancy, we do the same technique for inside and outside the window. We soap up the window with our fancy smancy mop and scrub it thoroughly, inspecting it for residues that may need to be scraped with a razor. If so, we use the razor for a very clean finish. Exterior windows under decks usually have the most need of this care. If we use the razor, we use the mop once more to clean it.
Now it's squeegee time! We use the squeegee to remove the soapy water and then use the lint free rag to get all the edges and corners of both the glass and the window frame so everything you see related to the window is clean.
That should give you a good idea of how thorough we clean each and every window. We do one final step called polishing the window. Now this step really sets us apart from our competition. Unfortunately we cannot reveal this technique but it really is what creates that diamond like reflection at night and invisible glass in the day...it's so cool.
